I used eyelet lace for both Lauren's and Caelyn's blessing dresses, but I have always had my eye on this shantung silk fabric. It was a splurge but I didn't mind for my little lady and I thought it would make a gorgeous blessing dress. I LOVE how it turned out! I love the pearly white color and the feel of the fabric. It was so fun to sew on this high quality fabric. I love how the pleats at the bottom of the skirt turned out. I love the lace accents. Etc! Etc! I guess I should just say that I love this dress. Oh and the girl is also extremely precious!

2011 Easter Dresses!
For Lauren's Christmas dress, I basically told her what I was going to make for her, but I promised I would let her pick out her next dress. So she did. She picked the pattern and the HOT PINK fabric (she wanted to brown, but I gently suggested that would be a lot of brown for a little big girl.) We found a pink fabric for Caelyn that had hot pink flowers on it to match Lauren's. Lauren is growing up so fast (but not too fast. Thanks Heavens!!)

Melanie's Gift

My friend Melanie (she is the one who taught me how to sew the bags) is having a boy in a few weeks. She has a daughter who is almost 3 yrs old. So I decided to make her daughter a dress and her son a little outfit that matches. I also made some cute little shoes for the baby. I think they turned out very cute if I do say so myself. I thought the shoes would be very hard but they weren't bad at all. I think Caelyn need a pair now. With the boy outfit, I used snap tape for the first time. I was nervous that it would be hard to work with but it was not a problem. FUN Project!
